Freedom

Often times, we Americans contemplate freedom and what it means to us. I learned about freedom at a very early age from my Grandfather, who was a World War ll veteran. He talked to me a lot about his time in the Navy—about battles fought and friends lost. He also talked about freedom and democracy, and how important our American values are. Through my school-age years, I learned about the atrocities of slavery here on our own soil.
